T Bar M Resort and Conference Center
Please mark your calendars to attend the 2017 Texas Branch Spring Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology!
This meeting will be held at the T Bar M Resort and Conference Center in New Braunfels, Texas on March 23st to 25th. The conference will include both Faculty and Student oral presentations, on topics that range from Environmental to Clinical Microbiology. We will also have an afternoon dedicated to undergraduate and graduate student poster presentations, and will award prizes to the best talks and posters in each category. The highlight of our meeting will be the 2017 Goldschmidt lecture, held on Friday evening. We will close the meeting on Saturday morning, with a session dedicated to Educational topics.
This Conference is geared toward undergraduate students and first- and second-year graduate students. It is a great opportunity for students to develop their presentation skills and interact with faculty from all around Texas in a very friendly and relaxed environment.
Please note: Vendor registration is available here.
We try to keep registration fees low, to encourage Faculty members to bring as many students as possible. We will accept early registrations until March 11th; after which a Late fee of $25.00 will be assessed.
The registration fee includes housing in the cabins (bunk beds), Thursday dinner, all meals on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. Please bring your own bedding, towels and toiletries. If you are interested in hotel accommodations, TBarM offers private hotel rooms and condos. Please contact TBarM (www.tbarm.com) for current rates and reservations. Other hotels in the New Braunfels area can also be found on the www.hotels.com website.
There will be four categories of student competition and awards. The categories will be at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, both for Posters and Oral Presentations. If you or your students submit an abstract, please be sure to indicate on the form if you are an undergraduate or graduate student and if you would like to present your work as a poster (not larger than 48 inches wide) or a 15-min talk. We will accept Abstract submissions until March 18th.
Upload a one-page abstract here: http://txasm.org/abstract-submission/
We will take pictures during the conference and your picture may be used on our website.
Cancellations and refunds: if a cancellation is received before or on March 11th, a registration refund will be processed. If cancellations are received after March 11th, full payment will be expected, and refunds will not be processed.
More information regarding Registration, Abstract submission and Student Speaker presentations will be posted on our website (www.txasm.org).
Please distribute this announcement to anyone else you think might be interested in attending the conference.
